The Four R’s of Reviewing a Business Article Review, Record, Respond, Report
Note - I highly recommend typing and organizing your response in Microsoft Word. Save your work and then copy and paste it into the discussion panel. Remember to comment and ask questions about your peers hard work too, it is a grade.
1st - Review Research the information deeper that you read about. Do not take the first thing you read as truth or a guide. That means you must question what the article is saying. Go find more information about it. Be curious, prove the information correct or incorrect. 3rd – Respond This is your reaction to the news. You are encouraged to think deeply about what you are reading, how it applies to what you have learned in the past and present. Meaning how you can use the information today; make a connection to REAL-LIFE. Some questions to help guide your thinking process… How can this influence you or your family?
What did you learn?
Are you still left wondering?
Do you have new ideas?
How did you feel? 4th – Report Report your findings. You will need to finish one article a week and post it into the discussion page under “Weekly Articles” Rubric: 4 - The report is organized, no grammar or spelling errors and easy to read. The sources used are cited using MLA. The student responded to the article by relating the research findings to their prior knowledge and showed a connection to “real-life”.
3 – The report is mostly organized 1 to 2 grammar or spelling errors and is easy to read. The sources are cited with minimal errors. The student responded to the article by relating the research findings to their prior knowledge and showed a connection to “real-life”. 2 - The report is somewhat organized with 3 to 5 grammar or spelling errors and is more complicated to read. The sources are cited with errors. The student responded to the article by relating the research findings to their prior knowledge and showed a connection to “real-life”.
Remember to read through your classmates weekly reviews and comment on at least one! It is part of the grade.
